In a resounding victory, young Nikodim has secured his place among the elite as one of the top three winners at last weekend’s prestigious Irish Junior Chess Championship. A Senior Infants pupil at St. Attracta’s National School, Nikodim’s remarkable talent has propelled him into the spotlight, earning well-deserved recognition for his exceptional skill and strategic prowess on the chessboard.
With his impressive showing at the national level, it seems only a matter of time before Nikodim ascends to even greater heights, potentially vying for top honours at the European Junior Chess Championship. Nikodim and his older brother Iaromir, are both members of the school’s after-school chess club, where they practice and share their innate chess playing abilities and genuine passion for the game.
