For children– this means class bubbles, handwashing, hand sanitisers, teachers wearing masks, social distancing and going home, if they have symptoms of COVID-19. Children from 4th class upwards have the option of wearing a mask.
Children may bring their own wipes/sanitiser if they wish.
For parents – this means communicating with the school by telephone or email (teacher email addresses are here and on the school website), not congregating outside the school, keeping symptomatic children at home and collecting children who develop symptoms of COVID-19. Always make an appointment by phone if you need to speak with a staff member.
Children should also remain at home if they display any of these symptoms:
- high temperature – 38 degrees Celsius or above.
- a new cough – this can be any kind of cough, not just dry.
- shortness of breath or breathing difficulties.
- loss or change in your sense of smell or taste
- sore throats, headaches, runny stuffy nose, vomiting or diarrhoea.
Please make sure that you answer/return any phone calls from the school without delay.
Parents are personally responsible for compliance with public health advice about foreign travel. Please see the government-advice on international-travel.
See more in our updated Covid-19 Response Plan here.
Parking: Please Do NOT park along the school wall. Park at the Tennis Courts, the Playground, the Soccer Pitch or GAA Pitch. From here, walk your child/children to the school gates. If you think it is safe from your child to do so, encourage your child to cycle or walk to school.
New teaching staff: We welcome Ms. Ciana Callanan and Ms. Maria Corduff to our permanent teaching staff. We also welcome back Ms. Norah Toman to our staff. Ms. Ciana Callanan will also be our new deputy principal. We will miss Mr. Hughes, Ms. Henry and Mr. Casey for all their great work as teachers in our school.
Please check/read your messages and emails regularly for updates from the school especially in the coming days as we settle back. We’ll share more information about sports and music soon.
