Dear Parent / Guardian, Staff Members,

I hope you and your families are keeping well. This is the first of a number of information updates you will receive before we re-open.

As you are aware, our school has now been closed since 12th March due to the COVID-19 situation.  We will re-open our school safely on Monday 31st August, in line with current guidance and recommendations.

We are really looking forward to welcoming all pupils back to school and will be doing all that we can to ensure that our return to school is a safe and enjoyable experience for the children.

We will all be called on to play our part in ensuring that re-opening of the school is done in a safe manner which prevents the spread of the virus and allows the vital work of Teaching and Learning to proceed with as little disruption as possible.

We will share our school’s detailed re-opening plan with you on our website soon. This plan will set out all of the new practices and procedures that pupils, staff and parents will have to follow to ensure that we do everything to remain safe from the risk of Covid-19.

Our school’s plan is informed by the national COVID-19 Response Plan for the safe and sustainable reopening of Primary and Special Schools (Department of Education and Skills’, 27 July 2020).

Our school’s plan is also informed by our COVID-19 Policy Statement.

Over the next three weeks, we will keep you informed as to the progress of our re-opening plans and provide you with the information required by you to play your part in safely re-opening the school.

For now, remember that people who holiday abroad in a country that is not on the government’s Green List must restrict their movements for 14 days on their return. This includes not attending school.

Thank you.

Noel Loftus, Principal
