School closes this Friday 26th June 2020
School closes on this Friday 26th June 2020. It will be the final day of the current school year. Teachers will no longer send distance learning work to your child after this date.
School reopens for pupils on 31st August 2020
Our school will reopen for pupils on 31st August 2020. Watch out for updates from us in late August with more information. By then all schools will have received more details from the Department of Education and Skills about how to restart classes in line with the national health advice that will be in operation at that particular time. I know that we all look forward to returning to the structure, routines and social community that we all miss about school.

Your child should bring a lunch and water drink to school for the first two weeks of the new school year. The free school lunch scheme will start from Monday 14th September for thse pupils who wish to avail of it.

Thank you
As we draw near the end of a very strange and very challenging school year for everyone, I want to thank you for supporting your child’s engagement with distance learning in any way that you could. While the school building was closed, you and your child, with ongoing support from our teachers, ensured that learning went on insofar as it could in difficult circumstances. We also acknowledge the support of those who worked behind the scenes to support us – the wider school staff, Parent Association and Board of Management. We also wish all our 6th class pupils the very best as they prepare for post-primary school.

On behalf of you, the school staff and board of management, I express our sincere thanks  to Yelena Ryan who will step down later this month as Charirperson, Parent Association. Yelena has served as chairperson with distinction for a number of years. Working with the PA members, Yelena has always worked tirelessly in her role to promote the interests of the our whole school community. Yelena’s contribution to the good of our school is very much acknowledged by everyone.

We also say a huge thank youto Ms. Avril Carr, Class teacher for First Class, who will leave us having spent one year working in a job-share capacity in our school. I know that pupils, parents and colleagues alike wish Ms. Carr all the very best in her new school. We are very grateful to Ms. Carr for sharing her expertise in distance learning platforms with us throughout the school closure period.

Finally, thank you again for your support to the school and we hope that you and your family keep safe and healthy over the summer.
