Pumpkin carving has become very popular Halloween activity but what do you do with your pumpkin after the festivities? This year Ballaghaderreen Friends of the Fairgreen would like to invite everyone to bring their carved pumpkins to the Community Garden (beside Duffy’s Supervalu). Pumpkins will be lit up at 6pm, then at 8pm all pumpkins will be gathered up and put into the compost heap. People are asked to bring their own reusable cup for a treat of hot chocolate. This is a free family event for the enjoyment of the community but also the raise awareness on food waste.
